We ARE meeting in the fall!

Hi families! I know things keep changing, but we are determined to hold in-person classes in the fall. We are not a school, so we are not required to do distance learning in the fall. Here's what we're working on to make returning to classes as safe as possible. - Sanitizing between classes - Enough school supplies so students don't have to share - Health checks (including temperature) when students arrive - Classes held outside whenever possible We haven't had time to update our Website yet, but here are the classes we're working on: Workshop Class in Santa Ana, Redlands, and online A different topic each week, all school subjects are integrated into exciting weekly activities. Four New Creative Ways to Learn

According to educational psychologist Benjamin Bloom, multiple-choice or fill-in-the-blank tests are the lowest form of assessing a student’s understanding of a subject. Additionally, these superficial learning experiences don't allow for exploration, individual expression, or creativity. When students are only required to regurgitate simple facts, they miss out on deeper learning experiences, ones that create lasting memories (learning) of a topic. Take a look at my version of Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational Objectives. In comparing assessment strategies to an iceberg, you can see how simple knowledge and comprehension assessments (fill in the blank/bubble) are only the tip of the iceberg
