For instance we may first study Claude Monet and the Impressionist movement in art, and take a look at his techniques and works. In doing so we will play games, create a timeline, make an entry in sketchbook, do exercises and then paint in Impressionist style with real art materials. Next class we may study Escher and draw up our own tessellation, reproduce it with cut stencils and ink, and look at the math skills needed to produce some of Escher’s work.
