Fireworks

Read through the fireworks and choose about five that you think might interest your child. Allow him or her to select 1-3 of them.

Research the differences between humans and apes. Make a comparison chart that shows the similarities between humans and different ape species.
Try living a day like a caveman. Don't use electricity, don't use running water (except maybe a toilet?) don't ride in a car, cook over a fire, etc. Write about your experience.
Pretend you met a caveman today. How will you communicate? What do you think of the caveman? What does the caveman think of you? Write a story about your interaction with the caveman.
Find out about the places where ancient human bones have been found. Mark these places on a world map. Create a database of the findings.
The subject of where humans come from have long been a subject of great debate, pitting science against religion in many cases. Study both sides of the controversy. What is your perspective? What would you say to anyone who disagrees with your point of view? Can you have this conversation without being mean? Write down the things you would say to someone with a different view on the matter.
Make a sugar, clay, or literary calavera for a Day of the Dead celebration.
Make cave paintings.
With the help of a parent, forage for food. What plants are safe to eat from?
Write about what it means to live healthy.
Look at cells under a microscope.
