Read through the fireworks and choose about five that you think might interest your child. Allow him or her to select 1-3 of them.

  • Do a character study on Princess Leia:

  • Make a map of the Star Wars galaxy.

  • Make a comic strip with two or more types of characters in it.

  • Choose five different character types. Conduct a survey to find out which people like best. Make a diagram to show the results.

  • Write a three-paragraph report on Princess Leia.

  • Explore large and small numbers and place value:

  • Make emoji Easter eggs:

  • Make masks to depict various characters from literature.

  • Emoticons Keychain:






  • Make a mobile of the Star Wars characters, with a picture of the character on one side and a description on the other side of the hanging objects.

  • Page 27 describes Darth Vader's clothes in this way: “His armor, flowing cape, and helmet were as black as the scorch marks on the walls.” This is a simile. Write similes to describe how the other characters are dressed.

  • Create lists of protagonists and antagonists in the story.

  • Compare Star Wars characters to those in classic fairy tales. How many similarities can you find?
